I went horse riding for two days on the Hacienda LA Alegria. We went to the Cotopaxi one day ant to the cloud forest the other day. The horses are great, so is Gabriel the owner and guide. I can highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you for the organizing it all for me.

MUCHAS MUCHAS GRACIAS, Thank you so so so much for a truly amazing unforgettable inpiring time at la Alegria!! I loved our rides, Corazon, Ruminahui, Cotopaxi... the last day was incredible, felt like a cowboy cantering through Machachi at the end of the day..Got so used to the routine of getting up and spendig all day on the horse so missing riding already...and respect Cocoon and Kafu ever so much more after. Please tell your wife also (and the Columbian women at La Alegria) that I absolutely loved the food and really wish I could get some recipes. Loved the Andean grain soup Quinoa (?!),the humitas or not sure what maize meal we had the last night and ofcourse Colada Murada.Anyway as soon as I return to SA I will visit my grandmother and make Colada Murada with her for him! Also got a special rock from Cotopaxi. You've got an excellent thing going at LaAlegria - really very inspiring. Thank you so much for having me you all make me feel so welcome. I love your house. My riding did improve I think!! I managed to jump and stay on. I cantered for ages but I admit trotting for long periods did wear me out. I loves the three rides, all where different. I think I improved over the three days I have never ride so much.The food was great, the horses were wonderful, the dogs were gorgeous and so was my two guides, a macho 40 yr old Gabriel and Javier the male model who was a delight to look at! We spend two glorious days at the Hacienda La Alegria, our host Gabriel and Patty could not have made us more welcome or make our stay more perfect. The horseback riding is spectacular and the horses and equipment are first class. We plan to return to this little paradise again as soon as possible, but not just for 2 days, but for a few weeks at least.
